Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes come from the grapes used to make the wine, and include fruity, herbal, and floral notes, aswell as certain earthy and spice notes. The type of grapes andthe climate they were grown in will affect the flavors of the wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Full Bodied Red Wine. Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety in the world.

Intense dark colour red with purple edge. Ripe blackberry and blueberry characters, cedarwood and liquorish. Soft, rich, mouth coating, balanced tannin, hints of classic Cabernet and authentically Heathcote. The ancient red Cambrian soils of Northern Heathcote are ideal for dark fruited, rich, soft Cabernet.

Rosé

Rosé is a type of wine that incorporates some of the color from the grape skins, but not enough to qualify it as a red wine.

De Bortoli's pale & dry Rosé Roséhas intense fruit aromas of peach and pomegranate. Everything you want in a dry Rosé -dangerously fresh, generously textured, a touch of spice and brimming with sophistication.

Shiraz Tempranillo

Predominately Shiraz (the most commonly planted grape in Australia) and a small amount of Tempranillo (the wine grape used to produce one of Spain's most admired, age-worthy red wines)with vanilla cola characters, raspberry and spice, allowing for an interesting savoury finish. spicy dark cherry, blueberry, and inky, toffee crystal aromas mingle with a hint of liquorice, scorched earth and dried herbs. Light to medium weight, the spicy palate features more of those generous dark cherry flavours with traces of liquorice and those earthy qualities. The sweet spicy fruits are rounded off by savoury elements and fine grain tannins, giving structure to the wine favourite tapas.
